You can help create accessible spaces for all Boston children to learn and play!
Your gift to Camp Shriver will impact students and families throughout Greater Boston!
Camp Shriver serves area families by providing free year-round programming for children who otherwise would not have opportunities to participate. At Camp Shriver, 50% of our campers have a disability, 65% of are from low-income households, and 75% belong to marginalized communities.
Research shows that recreational programs aid in the development of social-emotional learning (SEL) skills — including teamwork, respect, and sharing — in ways that classrooms cannot. This is incredibly important because SEL skills can positively impact young people’s academic achievement and long-term well-being, but not all children have access to programs that promote these skills.
Camp Shriver uses sports as a vehicle to bring children with and without disabilities together to develop critical skills, create positive peer relationships, and make new friends. We serve an equal number of campers with and without disabilities, so that all children can play, learn and interact in meaningful ways—no matter what their disability status. With your support, we can strengthen and expand our impact.
